Dr. Thomas Ricketts will give the Gordon H. DeFriese lecture on Health Services Research at the Carolina Club at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus on April 1st at 3:00pm.

The lecture is the largest event of the year sponsored by the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research. The speaker is selected by a committee of Sheps researchers to reflect important issues in the current research climate.

Dr. Ricketts is the Deputy Director for Policy Analysis at the Sheps Center and a professor in the departments of health policy and management in the UNC Gillings School of Public Health and of social medicine at the UNC School of Medicine.  He is an expert in health workforce research and research translation.  His talk is entitled, “So make me! Translating research into action.”

The lecture is named for Gordon H. DeFriese, PhD, who was director of the Sheps Center  from 1973-2000.

The lecture is open to the public and parking is available in the Rams Head Parking Deck adjacent to the Alumni Center. A reception will follow the lecture.
