Sheps Center names two new deputy directors
The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research has named two new Deputy Directors, one for Research and one for Policy.
Erin Fraher, PhD, MPP is the new Deputy Director for Policy. Fraher is the Director of the Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy. Although she is recognized internationally as an expert on workforce policy, she and the Program are highly-valued experts within the state as well. Erin is a frequent presenter to the NC General Assembly and works closely with various North Carolina and federal agencies. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. Dan Jonas, MD, MPH is the new Deputy Director for Research. Jonas is the Director of the Program on Medical Practice and Prevention. He co-directs the RTI-UNC Evidence-Based Practice Center, which has long been a strength of the Sheps research portfolio. As Deputy Director for Research, he will leverage his continuing role as Section Chief for Research in the Division of General Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology and help build on the strong partnership between the Sheps Center and the UNC School of Medicine.
