Child & Adolescent Health Services

iStock_000003470902Small (2) (2) (600x399)Despite major progress on most child health measures in the 1990s, barriers to health care services for children, as well as racial and regional disparities in child health status, persist throughout the United States. To address the challenges these realities present, the Program on Child & Adolescent Health Services focuses on ways to ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of high quality, evidence-based services for children, adolescents, and women in their childbearing years. The Program collects and reports data on health indicators; conducts research to evaluate  health status and programs; and provides technical assistance to policymakers,  advocates, and health care providers. The Program works with national, regional, state, and local organizations and agencies to improve child health and related services through research that assures that these services will be accessible, affordable, comprehensive, coordinated, community-based, and culturally competent.
