The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program is
a 2-year fellowship for physicians who have completed residency
training and wish to pursue independent studies in a variety of
disciplines related to medical care. Fellows are affiliated with
one of the clinical departments in the School of Medicine and
care for patients approximately one-half day a week. The majority
of time is spent in graduate-level studies in an intensive year-long
Core Curriculum and often in courses at the School of Public Health.
Each fellow is expected to complete original research in an area
such as clinical epidemiology, health services research, medical
sociology or health policy.
A grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation supports Clinical
Scholars' stipends, research, tuition and travel, as well as faculty
and staff involved with the Program's administration and curriculum.
After completion of the Program, Clinical Scholars have pursued
careers in academic medicine, government and leadership in the
private sector.
