Julie Spero, MSPH

Spero_tnMs. Spero is the Director of the North Carolina Health Professions Data System and a Research Associate with the Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy and at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research. Her research focuses on the social accountability of health professional education and the use of health workforce data for evidence-based decision-making. Ms. Spero oversees the maintenance, analysis and dissemination of the North Carolina Health Professions Data System, which contains annual licensure data on 19 different health professions dating back to 1979. She received her Master of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College.
