Jacqueline Burgette, DMD

Jacqueline is excited to focus her research career as an NRSA postdoctoral fellow at the Sheps Center. She completed her third year of residency in pediatric dentistry at UNC in June 2015, and is taking time away from clinical training to focus on health services research. Her research interests include pediatric oral health services.

Currently, Jacqueline is involved in research, led by Dr. Gary Rozier, looking at the impact of Early Head Start on children’s oral health outcomes. She is examining the effect of Early Head Start on dental utilization and oral health-related quality of life. Jacqueline is also focusing on oral health literacy with the Carolina Oral Health Literacy Project, led by Dr. Jessica Lee.

Jacqueline grew up in Seattle, WA. She studied dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys rock-climbing, modern dance, yoga and community choir.
