Development and Application of Contextual Frameworks for Patient-Centered Medical Homes, Process Redesign, and Care Transitions

The RTI-UNC EPC team worked with groups of technical experts to apply and refine the Contextual Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) to complex health care interventions. The modified frameworks aim to help identify contextual factors and implementation processes that should be examined when researches are investigating how, why, and where selected interventions succeeded in or failed to achieve desired outcomes. This project included an evaluation phase designed to assess the methodologies used to engage technical experts and refine the frameworks.
