Dr. Brianna Lombardi Appointed Co-Director of Health Workforce Research Program

The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Brianna Lombardi, PhD, MSW as Co-Director of the Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy. This prestigious role recognizes Dr. Lombardi’s significant contributions to the field and underscores her growing influence and impact within North Carolina, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Lombardi will join Dr. Erin Fraher, who is the founding director of the program and who built it into the success it is today.

Dr. Lombardi is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Research Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work. She directs the Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center and is Deputy Director of the Carolina Health Workforce Research Center, two of nine federally funded workforce research centers housed at Sheps.  An expert in health workforce research and behavioral health, Dr. Lombardi has a track record of groundbreaking studies and policy recommendations. Her work has garnered attention from peers, policymakers, and the public alike.
