Erin Fraher Presented at WWAMI’s 50th Anniversary GME Summit

Erin Fraher, PhD, MPP, the Director of the Sheps Center’s Program on Health Workforce Research and Policy, presented at the WWAMI GME Summit during their 50th anniversary meeting. WWAMI is the regional medical education program named for the five participating states that include Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho.

The presentation, titled “Using Data to Shape the Physician Workforce We Need” lays a foundation of data to inform discussions of physician workforce shortages, with examples and case studies of physician distribution disparities from North Carolina and examples of federal investments in physician training programs including the Teaching Health Center and Rural Residency Program Planning and Development Programs.
