Inaugural AACOM Fellowship Class Graduates, Advancing Rural Health Workforce Development
The Sheps Center is proud to celebrate the graduation of the inaugural class of the AACOM Graduate Medical Education (GME) Development Fellowship. This milestone marks a significant step forward in strengthening the rural health workforce and expanding access to medical education in underserved communities.
Developed in partnership with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), the fellowship equips emerging leaders with the tools and support needed to develop sustainable GME programs in rural and community-based settings. The first cohort of fellows—representing institutions across the country—have already begun to make an impact by launching new residency programs, building local partnerships, and addressing physician shortages in high-need areas.
This work aligns closely with the Sheps Center’s mission to improve health care access through research, policy, and innovation. We are honored to support this initiative and celebrate the accomplishments of these dedicated professionals.
