A Presentation by Ron Avi Astor, PhD and Rami Benbenishty, PhD

The authors will present the theoretical model developed in their new book, entitled, “Bullying, School Violence, and Climate in Evolving Contexts.” They will present the implications of their model for theory, methodology, policy development, and practice and will illustrate their ideas in the context of weapons in schools and youth suicide.

Ron Avi Astor holds joint appointments in the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work and the USC Rossier School of Education. His work examines the role of the physical, social-organizational and cultural contexts in schools related to different kinds of school violence.

Rami Benbenishty is a Professor Emeritus at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at Bar Ilan University, Israel. He received his Ph.D. in Social Work and Psychology from the University of Michigan and his main areas of interest are the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of children around the world.
