Drug Effectiveness Review Project (DERP)

UNC investigators produce a variety of products for the Drug Effectiveness Review Project, including scans for new research and comparative effectiveness reviews of medications from many widely used drug classes. Topics of reports led by UNC investigators include diabetes medications, asthma controller medications, Alzheimer’s disease medications, targeted immune modulators, and second generation antipsychotics. The reports are used by state Medicaid agencies to inform policy decisions.
