EPC: Refractory Depression, Non-pharmacological Interventions; A Systematic Review

The project reviews the existing literature on non-pharmacological interventions for treating refractory depression. The analytic and clinical validity of different treatment strategies are of interest. Using these key questions, literature search terms and eligibility criteria for clinical studies will be developed. This will be followed by a systematic literature search of relevant databases. Adhering to methodological criteria of systematic reviews, relevant clinical studies will be abstracted and their quality rated. This project will result in an evidence report, summarizing the existing scientific evidence on the use of non-pharmacological interventions for treating refractory depression with respect to the key questions provided by AHRQ.
