Developing a Spanish Language Decision Aid for Colorectal Cancer Prevention: The CHOICES/ OPCIONES Project

Patient-physician communication barriers contribute to under use of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. US Latinos have the lowest CRC screening rates among the major racial/ethnic groups, putting them at greater risk for late-stage disease presentation and death from CRC. Objective: Our overall objective is to develop an appropriate Spanish language decision aid for CRC screening that could be used in a future clinical trial to improve CRC screening and decision-making in LEP Latinos.
