Joe Morrissey is Emeritus Professor of Health Policy & Management at the Gillings School of Global Public Health and Senior Fellow, Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Trained as a sociologist, his career has encompassed several decades working in academic and public agency settings. His seminar talk will share thoughts and take-aways gleaned from his mental health policy and services research experiences focused on persons with severe mental illness. Highlights will be drawn from research on historical trends, service system integration, criminal justice-mental health interfaces, and managed mental health care.
